Frisson Event Sync (“the Add-on,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we access, how it is used, and how we ensure that your data remains private and secure.
1. Overview
Frisson Event Sync is a Google Workspace Add-on for Google Sheets. It allows users to import, view, and manage event data from their connected Google Calendars.
The Add-on is designed for independent contractors, freelancers, and professionals who wish to analyze their time and simplify invoicing workflows.
2. Data Access
User Email Address: The Add-on accesses your primary Google email address solely to verify your subscription status.
Google Calendar data: (event titles, start times, end times, durations, and calendar names).
Your active Google Sheet: where event data is stored and displayed.
3. Data Storage
Local Storage: All calendar event data is stored locally within your own Google Sheet. No event titles, times, or descriptions are ever uploaded to external servers.
Subscription Verification (Firebase): To provide service, we securely store your email address and an associated subscription status in a private Firebase database. This database does not store any of your calendar or spreadsheet data.
4. OAuth and Permissions
Frisson Event Sync uses Google OAuth 2.0 to request only the minimum permissions necessary to function. The Add-on’s current scopes include:
userinfo.email: Used strictly as a unique identifier to verify your Stripe subscription status via Firebase.calendar.readonly: Allows the script to read your calendar events so they can be imported into your sheet.spreadsheets.currentonly: Grants permission to write and format data only within the specific Google Sheet where the add-on is launched.script.container.ui: Enables the display of the sidebar tool within your spreadsheet.script.external_request: Required to securely communicate with Stripe and Firebase for software activation.script.scriptapp&datastore: Used for internal trigger management and managing secure script properties (like your Firestore credentials).
These permissions are approved directly by you through Google’s secure consent screen. We never access your personal emails, drive files, or contacts. All calendar data processing stays within your Google Account.
5. Data Usage
Subscription Management: We use your email address to cross-reference Stripe payment records to activate and maintain your access to the tool.
Core Functionality: Calculate durations, pay periods, and totals for time tracking directly within your workspace.
6. Data Sharing
Subscription Activation Only: We do not collect personal data. We use the email address associated with your Google account strictly as a unique identifier to verify your Stripe subscription via our secure Firebase database. This is required solely to activate the software features for your account.
Strict Prohibitions: We never sell your information or share your calendar event details with any third parties. All processing of event data happens exclusively within your own Google Workspace environment.
7. Security
All operations occur within the Google Workspace environment using Google’s built-in security and authentication systems.
Your data never leaves your account. You can revoke access at any time through your Google Account Permissions.
8. User Control
You may:
- Revoke the Add-on’s access from your Google Account settings
- Delete your data by removing it from your Google Sheet
- Uninstall the Add-on at any time through the Google Workspace Add-ons menu
We do not retain any user data after uninstallation.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as needed to reflect changes in Google’s policies or the Add-on’s functionality.
Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
10. Limitation of Liability
Frisson Event Sync is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
By using this Add-on, you acknowledge that all data is stored and managed within your own Google Workspace account.
Frisson Events and its developer shall not be liable for any loss of data, system errors, or damages arising from the use or inability to use the Add-on.
You agree to use the Add-on at your own discretion and risk.
